In Excavated Well, I virtually unearthed and physically animated a water well found during an archaeological dig of Jamestown, Virginia- the earliest British settlement in America. I embroidered and framed an appropriated image found on a website about the dig and created a video animating it with a surreal water puddle, thus changing the context of the well in the same way media changes the contexts of history.
